- Choir member

Calling/Interest to serve on Church Council:

I have entered into “semi-retirement.” As a result, I no longer travel extensively as I have done over the past 24 years. Now that I am no longer “on the road,” I desire to enter into a greater commitment to service to the Lord. In fact, I met earlier this summer with Pastor Tom to discuss this desire and get ideas as to how to best find my service “fit”. The new Church Council concept is one I have felt has great potential for helping our church become the beacon of light for the Lord in our community and beyond and “increasing numbers of transformed lives.” I have many years’ experience as a successful sales executive and consultant, meeting and exceeding goals and objectives through collaboration and think-ing out of the box. I believe my service fit at Bon Air would be very well served if I can use my experience and love for the Lord to help BABC meet and exceed our goals and objectives by serving as part of the Church Council team.

Opportunities for BABC:

Develop creative and exciting programs that will bring a new generation of members to BABC. The Gathering is a good start, but I feel we should be studying how we can get the participation of our Gathering attendees more involved than just the hour on Sunday morning. Help develop programs for youth that will create an exciting and fun style of worship environment.

Positions held/hold:

- Deacon Team

- Member of Endowment Team

- Sunday School Teacher

- Previous Ad Interim Team

Calling/Interest to serve on Church Council:

Having served on the previous Ad Interim Team for the last several years until it was replaced in the new Church governing structure, I have come to understand the great responsibility of serving the Church in so many diverse areas as we seek to do God’s will as a corporate body. Christianity and how individuals and the Church corporately accomplish our mission as given to us in Scripture is under a tremendous attack in our culture today. I am interested in serving, and feel called to do everything I can to ensure the Church continues to do God’s will and is a community offering salva-tion, spiritual maturity, encouragement, and truth for all people in this time of Satan’s very overt attacks.

Opportunities for BABC:

To be more engaging about witnessing for Christ; taking on appropriate bold positions as we stand for Him.

Positions held/hold:

- Welcome Desk Greeter

- Preschool Sunday School teacher

- Christmas homeless dinner coordinator

- WMU School Supply Drive coordinator

- Served on Transition Team -

- Served on Governance Team

Calling/Interest to serve on Church Council:

After serving on the Church Governance team and the Transition team, I want to continue to help serve the church and guide our leadership structure to a mature state. The Church Council is critical to helping staff and lay members focus on the mission and vision of BABC. I am passionate about serving the church and leveraging my gifts of leadership in the mission of the church. I feel that 2 years into the Council's existence that it is the right time to serve, provide context, and insights from the years of research and planning that the Governance Team spent to create this model. I desire to see the Council fulfill on its calling to serve the church and empower leaders and staff to focus on the doing and the going.

Opportunities for BABC:

The top opportunities in the next several years for BABC begin with missions in our own backyard and reaching the communities around each site and connecting with our neighbors. To achieve this, we must be growing young believers and equipping them to serve. As a mother of two young boys, I see our Children's and Youth programs as our training grounds. We must recog-nize that our children and youth are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. They need the guidance and insight from the generations that have gone ahead to grow their faith and love for Jesus, so they will want to serve like Jesus.
